Dear Lakeside Families,
Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf has directed that all schools and businesses in the state will be closed indefinitely, and a stay at home order has been extended for 26 counties until April 30.
Based on this new directive given by Governor Wolf, Lakeside’s schools (Lakeside School, Lakeside Girls Academy, Souderton Vantage Academy, and Upper Merion Vantage Academy) have announced the indefinite closure of its schools until further notice.
We will continue to provide remote education and counseling support services to our students. During each program’s scheduled spring break, we will be closed as planned with staff and students taking a break from remote learning.
We will continue to work closely with the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the Montgomery County Department of Public Health and other agencies to determine when it will be safe to reopen our schools. Our schools will continue to provide remote learning and counseling support services to students.
A number of parents have expressed their appreciation for the support their children have received. They have been particularly thankful for the early preparation and delivery of remote academic services and the continued structure and counseling support that have been provided.
We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to continue to be a resource and support to all of our students and families during this time. Thank you to each and every staff member that has worked hard to make the transition to online support and educational services possible. Thanks also to our students and their parents for all of your efforts in working with us. We have been impressed with your involvement, commitment, and resilience.
And as always, safeguarding the health and well-being of our students, our staff and the broader community is our highest priority.
