One of the most important jobs in our country is teaching our students. Teachers shape the knowledge, character, capability and future of America’s youth.
As an educational organization for students who have many needs and struggles, Lakeside is a testimony to the positive effects from the impact in the life of a student as a result of teachers and staff who really care.
Yet in most schools, teachers are placed in some very tough positions. Students who have a difficult time focusing in a classroom are distracted, acting out, checking out, or being disruptive.
It is extremely hard to manage a classroom when some of the students are not participating, distracting other students, and taking the teacher off lesson plan for that day. It only takes one student to disrupt control of the environment in a classroom.
Even if the teacher has to stop teaching to send the student out of the room, the negative tone to the classroom reverberates, and there is no guarantee that the student will receive the help needed.
There is a better way.
Teachers can learn how to regulate their students through brain-based strategies.
We recognize that students who are creating classroom chaos are extremely dysregulated and need guidance in how to regulate their brains. This guidance is a set of interventions that help a student move from the lower arousal areas in the brain to a more cognitive place so they can think and relate with good logic and clarity.
Often students are labelled, disciplined or blamed for what is going on in their brain. Yet, teachers are still left with ineffective strategies.
So no one is relating or functioning well!
This is why Lakeside has launched the Neurologic Initiative.
We have trained thousands of teachers in schools regionally and internationally.
Our Neurologic Program has received amazing response. Every day we are receiving more requests for Neurologic Training.
We are also offering Neurologic by broadcast, so that we can train live to almost anywhere in the world where there is an Internet connection.
Now, this same Neurologic Program training we have traditionally done live or by broadcast is available on-demand.
A teacher can gain the knowledge and skills that reflect the current neuroscience for managing students within classrooms so that students have more capacity to learn and be less disruptive to others in the class.
Lakeside is providing this training and new hope for teachers.
We provide online training then online follow-up coaching sessions. The coaching will continue to build knowledge, confidence and skills as teachers become more comfortable with a new paradigm for classroom teaching and management.
This relational and strategic Neurologic Program training is now available by visiting our website at www.lakesidelink.com.
Teachers, this is for you!
